my august moon

my august moon like blooming bushes
stirs me to tenderness
i sit on velvet grass to breathe freshness
there's pleasure passing under countless trees
joyful is my walk by the shore
carried by waves that roar from the ocean deep
i am lifted to the soar of mountain tips
to the music cascading waterfalls make
and find a deep calm and peace
in village church, still
at the hour of the angelus.
i, who am birthed in solitude
bared for these luxuries where only you intrude.
what is it to make complete?
a remembered gesture that you clasp
the two of us one and lost to nature
i dream which is now, what has been nurtured before
oh! a rapture i can no longer conceal
now to all i must reveal!

Hi Kabiluluwa, I don't know what your blog name means but I enjoyed the poems you posted especially My August Moon. You noted that the poem was written in Samar in 1958. Is the author still there? That was over fifty years ago. Thanks and keep posting. rosadel
